Woodland drama club gets ready for debut performance

More than 30 fourth and fifth grade members of Woodland Intermediate School's Wildcat Drama club held a dress rehearsal Tuesday in preparation for their debut performance Thursday of the play "Forgiven: A Fairytale."

The play will be presented at the Gurnee school through a special arrangement with Pioneer Drama Service, Inc., of Englewood, Colorado, which owns the rights to the script.

The production tells tale of a young girl, Lizzie, who felt rejected by her classmates, and turns into a wicked witch. With the help of King Midas II she learns that it is important to forgive others.

Performances will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday and Friday, in the multipurpose room of the school, 1115 N. Hunt Club Road.

Tickets cost $3 per person. Children 12 and under are free.

Money raised will help fund future drama club productions.
