Bartlett makes arrests during traffic enforcement campaign

Bartlett police arrested one suspected drunken driver and issued 31 citations during a state-funded enforcement campaign over the Halloween weekend, authorities said Wednesday.

Police also arrested one driver on a charge of driving under the influence of drugs, according to a news release.

Officers issued 22 warning or traffic citations for speeding violations and nine warning or traffic citations for other infractions.

Bartlett's version of the statewide "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" included an extra 25 patrol hours checking for intoxicated driving from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2. The effort was funded by a grant through the Illinois Department of Transportation's Division of Traffic Safety.
