Time for a change in Springfield

Voters should ask whether they are happy with Illinois and our leaders. If pleased, then they should vote for the status quo and re-elect incumbents giving Speaker Michael Madigan supermajority control once again. Under one party - Democratic control the past decade - Illinois has the worst credit rating, lowest job creation and over $100 billion unfunded pension liabilities in the country, not to mention, more businesses and families are fleeing the state now than ever with one person leaving every 10 minutes.

I believe all Democratic incumbents should be kicked out of the capital on Nov. 4. They are responsible for the mess in Springfield and should be held accountable. Voters should remember their party promised the 2011 tax hike would be "temporary" but now want to make it "permanent."

The Quinn-Madigan policies in Illinois have failed miserably pushing our once great state to the brink of financial collapse and not using the tax increase for its stated purpose. My legislators, Carol Sente and Terry Link, should be the first to go.

It is time for change and a new direction. It is time to add checks and balances and bring both sides to the negotiations table stopping just one party backroom deals. I will be voting for Leslie Munger and Don Wilson to bring back jobs, lower taxes and restore our trust in government before it is too late.
