Bruce Rauner is no Ted Kennedy

Bruce Rauner is no Ted Kennedy

In the last debate, Bruce Rauner compared himself to Ted Kennedy to defend his wealth. I couldn't believe my ears!

Yes. Ted Kennedy and all of the Kennedys were very, very rich, but that is the only thing they and Bruce Rauner have in common.

For starters, the Kennedys didn't get rich outsourcing jobs or buying up companies just to use them up and then dump them laying all the workers off.

Also, the Kennedy family dedicated themselves to helping those in need and improving the lives of working people by promoting causes like civil rights, women's rights, the minimum wage, equal pay for woman, the right to unionize, cleaning up the environment and providing access to health care to every American.

As a Republican, regardless of what he might be saying right now, Bruce Rauner will not promote any of these things. In the past he has even said that he opposes the minimum wage altogether.

To paraphrase another debate, "I knew Ted Kennedy. Ted Kennedy was a friend to working people like me." Bruce Rauner is no Ted Kennedy.

Bruce Rauner doesn't deserve to have his name even mentioned in the same sentence as Ted Kennedy. And he sure doesn't deserve to the governor of Illinois either!
