Statue of Jesus shouldn't have been covered

The letter "Praise for church's gracious actions" from the Arlington Heights gentleman on Oct. 15 described the Burt Constable article, "Jesus hidden for high holy days in Catholic Church." The church's action was the ultimate gesture of political correctness. The last time I checked, Jesus was born a Jew who preached and taught in the Jewish temples to both Jewish and Gentile people. He welcomed all to hear his word and teachings.

I give credit to that Catholic Church for allowing Jewish services to be held in their facilities, but to cover up or hide the statue or likeness of Jesus because it might offend the visiting Jewish congregation went way overboard in the world of political correctness. Jesus wouldn't offend anyone - you either believe in him or you don't. People in the Middle East are being killed every day because they will not renounce their Christian or Jewish faith. That is offensive!
