Do we want a bully running the state?
As more comes to light about the excesses of candidate Bruce Rauner, including his threats against a former executive and her family and more recently his pressure on the Chicago Sun-Times and the reporter who covered this story, i.e., making untrue allegations against the reporter's wife. One can only find the hasty Sun-Times Rauner endorsement to be highly suspicious.
Two questions come to mind. How can we trust any newspaper endorsement in this race? The Chicago Tribune is reported to be negotiating to buy the Sun-Times suburban papers. Could that have influenced its endorsement of Rauner? Or, is that why the Tribune did not cover this story? We can only speculate on what influence Rauner has on other papers. But, more importantly, do we really want such an overbearing bully to wield the powers of the governor in our state?
