Hawks to assess Crawford's status Tuesday

Corey Crawford was scheduled to skate on his own Monday, and he remains day to day as he rehabs his upper-body injury according to Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville,

So, where does that leave Scott Darling, who had a stellar NHL debut Sunday night against Ottawa?

"We'll visit with that," Quenneville said. "We'll get a better assessment of Crow on Tuesday.

"But (Darling) certainly didn't hurt his situation moving forward."

The Kane connection:

Scott Darling and Patrick Kane are the same age, so it is no wonder that over the years their paths have crossed.

"We kind of grew up together going to the same hockey camps," Kane said. "I joke around with him now telling him he's a lot better now than he was back then.

"But he's had a great run. There are good things ahead for him."

Impressive numbers:

In a head-to-head match-up Saturday and Sunday nights, the Blackhawks games on WGN-TV beat the World Series among Chicago households and key demographic segments.

Approximately 184,500 households tuned in Saturday night for the Hawks' 3-2 loss to St. Louis in their first game since their playoff series last spring.

Approximately 165,600 households tuned in Sunday night for the Hawks' 2-1 victory over Ottawa at the United Center.
