Nearly 50,000 early voters in suburban Cook County the first week

Arlington Heights Village Hall, Palatine Village Hall and Schaumburg Township District Library are among the busiest early voting locations in suburban Cook County, as nearly 50,000 residents cast ballots for the Nov. 4 election in the first week of early voting, Cook County Clerk David Orr said Monday. More voters are expected this week as weekday hours are expanded to 7 p.m. The Orland Township Hall has the most votes cast, at 3,174. Arlington Heights Village Hall is second with 2,801; the Schaumburg library is fourth with 2,080 and Palatine Village Hall is sixth with 1,874. "Early voting turnout is already impressive and it will only grow as election day nears," Orr said. "We anticipate voters will really appreciate being able to cast a ballot after work now that all 43 suburban Cook County early voting sites are open until 7 p.m. today through Friday."
