Reasons to keep these three in office

Midterm elections are a time when radical minority views can overtake the majority. This happens due to voter apathy, especially by those who normally would vote Democratic. Four years ago radical right-wing minority of the GOP, the Tea Party, won seats in Congress. They were a disruptive force whose answer to most everything was no. They even brought the government to a halt damaging the fragile economic recovery.

Here we are again at a midterm election. Even though most of the Tea Party Candidates did not make it through the primaries there is a chance those with similar unpopular views may win over solid representatives who want America to go forward not backward.

I considered myself lucky to be represented by three excellent people. My state representative, Elaine Nekritz, has been a leader in the Illinois House from her first term to now. Elaine has worked in a bipartisan manner to try to solve some of this state's biggest problems. We cannot afford to lose leadership Rep. Nekritz has shown.

In Congress my representatives are Brad Schneider and Sen. Dick Durbin. Sen. Durbin, who has the second-highest position in the Senate, has been a consistent defender of the little guy. He has protected Social Security from those who would privatize the program and extended unemployment benefits in the deepest time of the recession. It's imperative we re-elect Senator Durbin.

We have seen one term of Bob Dold and one of Brad Schneider. Dold had a policy of obstruction. Brad Schneider has a positive record of moving the country forward, protecting Social Security, health care and women's rights. To me the choice is as clear as night and day Brad Schneider is the best choice for the 10th district and the country.
