Take this chance to cut speaker's power

Illinoisans have a rare opportunity this election to reduce Madigan's power and break Democrat supermajority control of Springfield by voting for newcomers and non-politicians like Leslie Munger for Illinois state representative.

Leslie Munger is a breath of fresh air compared to the tired rhetoric we keep hearing from incumbents who want to hold onto their state-paid salaries, healthcare benefits and pensions while being responsible for driving our state to the brink of insolvency.

Illinois has the third largest debt, over $100 billion in unfunded pension liabilities, the worst credit rating, the lowest job creation, fourth-highest corporate tax rate, second-highest number of people leaving and is nationally known as one of the most corrupt states in the country.

Democrat incumbents who voted for Madigan for speaker and vote with him a majority of the time should be held accountable. They should be voted out of office this election for the dismal results they have delivered and for perpetuating Madigan's rule for a 28th and 29th year as speaker of the house.

If legislators were held to the same standards as business, most would have been fired by now. I urge the voters of the 59th District to do the same and give Democrat, incumbent Carol Sente a pink slip on Nov. 4.
