This election, will voters wake up?
The voters in Illinois must be stupid, ignorant or asleep or perhaps some combination of all three. Hopefully, not all three. For years the Democratic Party has been in complete control of the state. The adage "Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely" is vividly exhibited by Illinois. It is granted the nationwide and dubious distinction as "The Most Corrupt State In The Union."
Why do corporations want to move out? Why are surrounding states making offers to smaller business companies with success? Why is Illinois on the brink of bankruptcy? What are the features of the Democratic Party control that have warranted that title and those moves?
What comes to mind are excess taxation, overspending, unbelievable debt, cheating, stealing and bribery. At least that is the reputation that is rampant.
In the past there have been elections where the most popular ads just said, "Throw them all out." What a novel idea. Most of our governors retire into prison. (Including a Republican governor.) One Democrat is there now. Isn't there a lesson hidden there somewhere? Don't we need a complete change? Monkeys on the ballot might even be a step in the right direction.
The election is just a few weeks away. If the absolute existing Democratic Party power structure continues we will get another explicit indication of the nature of Illinois voters - stupid, ignorant or asleep. And we shouldn't be surprised when the reputation continues. Wouldn't a complete overhaul be great?
