Firefighters battling Downers Grove apartment blaze

Firefighters continue to battle a blaze in the 2000 block of Prentiss Drive in Downers Grove.
Authorities said the fire originated on the second floor of the multiunit complex at about 6 a.m. Wednesday near Woodward Avenue. The blaze spread to the third floor before firefighters could bring it under control.
No one was injured, authorities said, adding all residents were able to safely evacuate the building.
Firefighters also report heavy smoke damage due to the blaze.
The cause of the blaze remains unknown.
