Prospect Hts. man killed in Indiana crash

A Prospect Heights man died Wednesday morning after the motorcycle he was driving struck the back of a semitrailer truck in southern Indiana, police said.

The crash happened just after 10:30 a.m. on I-65 north of Seymour in Jackson County, Indiana State Police officers said in a news release.

James P. McHugh Jr., 58, was driving a gold 2007 Harley-Davidson when he drove into the rear of a semitrailer truck stopped in traffic from road construction.

McHugh, who was wearing a helmet, was thrown from his motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

An autopsy is scheduled for 9 a.m. Thursday, Jackson County Coroner Roger Wheeler said.
