We need lawmakers who can't be bought

I recently read an article that John S. Matijevich wrote about a do-nothing Republican Congress. This brought back old memories of when John was assistant majority leader and chairman of the Rules Committee and Mike Madigan was majority leader and they set the standards being used today by the Democrats in the state legislature: Spend, Spend, Spend.

A budget is a meaningless piece of paper.

Don't put any money into those pension plans, let the next generation worry about that.

Donate obscene amounts of money to new Democrat candidates and they will be obligated to us for life.

John and Mike were very successful and their standards are now known as the "Springfield Democratic Mold" and Madigan still has the whip in his hand. And his system works.

Madigan, his allies and the unions have given Sam Yingling more than $500,000 for his campaign fund. And this investment has paid off as Yingling has voted 98.7% of the time exactly as directed by Madigan.

Now Madigan has begun a similar effort with his support of Loren Karner in the 61st District. Over $100,000 donated in one week and a recent mail piece attacking Sheri Jesiel, the current state representative, for defending rapists. This is an absolutely obscene allegation.

Madigan has also sent out several obscene mail pieces supporting his puppet Sam Yingling. Rod Drobinski, a Lake County state's attorney, is accused of wanting to cut support programs for victims of rape, supporting the immediate release of violent criminals, etc.

These are preposterous allegations.

Unfortunately, we cannot vote Mike Madigan out of office. But I strongly suggest that the voters in the 61st District support Sheri Jesiel and that the voters in the 62nd district vote for Rod Drobinski. We need more honest representatives that can't be bought by Mike Madigan.
