Elk Grove Village police make arrest in bank robbery

Elk Grove Village police have made an arrest in connection with a Tuesday bank robbery.

Parkway Bank, 951 Meacham Road in Elk Grove Village, was robbed about noon by a man wearing sunglasses, a light blue baseball cap and a black jacket, according to an email from the FBI.

At 12:15 p.m., police notified Adlai Stevenson Elementary School in Elk Grove Village about the robbery, according to an email sent by Principal Maria Clifford to parents. At the time, the third- through sixth-graders had completed their lunchtime recess, but officials decided to not send -the first- and second-graders outside for recess, according to Clifford's email.

At 12:45 p.m., police told the school a suspect had been arrested, the email said.

The suspect's name was not released Tuesday night.
