Moylan too tied to Madigan to suit him

Two years ago my doorbell rang. That's when I first met Marty Moylan. He told me he was running for the state legislature and asked for my support.

I told him my biggest reservation was that he was a Democrat. Not that I am a Republican, but things have been too lopsided for too long and we need a change. The state is being run by Michael Madigan and his troop of lemmings who have taken it to the brink of financial ruin and nothing will change until that power structure is dismantled.

Marty insisted that he was his own man and answered to no one.

A few weeks ago my doorbell rang and, once again, I was face to face with Marty Moylan. Marty said a lot of good things. Among them, he feels legislators are paid too much and he is for term limits.

I asked him how he could vote to retain Madigan in the same position of power that he has occupied for decades if he is for term limits. That's when I found out Marty suffers from selective hearing. He ignored the question and went on to something else. Before he left he did tell me that he was his own man.

Since then I learned that Madigan put up nearly one million dollars to get Marty elected the first time. So is Marty really his own man? You figure it out.
