Fundraiser to aid family of young stoke victim

A fundraiser for 13-year-old Kiley Dauel will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, at The Lodge Bar & Grill, 41W379 Route 64 in Campton Hills.

This is a fundraiser for Burlington residents Jill and Rob Dauel and their three young girls. They lost their home and belongings in a flood a year ago and finally were able to move back into a partially rebuilt house this past summer - about the same time that Rob suddenly lost his brother in an accident.

Then, on Sept. 17, Kiley, a Burlington Central eighth-grader, had a spontaneous stroke, which has left her paralyzed on her left side. She is being treated in Chicago rehab facility.

This has all caused an enormous emotional and financial stress on this family, so a fundraiser is being organized for them on Nov. 1.

Purchase tickets to the fundraiser and come eat one of The Lodge's oven-roasted chicken dinners, accompanied by mashed potatoes, green beans and soda. There will also be a live auction, silent auction, 50/50 raffle, door prizes, and a bake sale. Pianist Nick Oldman will perform.

Advance tickets are $15 or $20 at the door. An additional $1 fee will be applied to cover credit card fees.

A child younger than 10 can eat off the children's menu for free with a paid adult. Approximately half of the ticket price will be donated to the Dauels. For details or tickets, visit kareforkiley.org.

If you would like to help further, visit GoFundMe.com/Kare-for-Kiley or send a check to "Kare for Kiley," c/o Old Second Bank, 194 S. Main St., Burlington, IL 60109

They also are asking for donations of items or gift certificates to be auctioned. Your generosity will be recognized in our auction booklet, through web-links and on the website and Facebook page.

If you donate a gift certificate, they ask that any certificates donated have an expiration date valid for at least 6 to 12 months.
