Sente represents Springfield status quo

I received a laughable endorsement letter from the wives of the Buffalo Grove president and trustees claiming Democrat incumbent Carol Sente is "fiercely independent and went to Springfield to shake up the old boys club." Nothing could be further from the truth.

I was taught actions speak louder than words. Ms. Sente's actions do not indicate independence whatsoever.

She has voted for Madigan for speaker each time, accepted over $1 million in funding from him and the Democrat Party since her appointment, and has consistently voted with him over 90 percent of the time.

Sente's pro-Madigan actions include voting for unbalanced budgets each year, raising the debt ceiling, raising many taxes, increasing regulations, and driving hundreds of thousands of jobs out of Illinois.

Unfortunately, Ms. Sente will say or do almost anything to be re-elected, including making false and extreme accusations about her challenger.

The question voters of the 59th District need to ask themselves is whether Sente's actions define independence to them. I believe a vote for Carol Sente is a vote for Mike Madigan; it is a vote for the status quo and the continuation of one-party supermajority control.

I am fed up with the mess in Springfield and entrenched politicians serving themselves versus the people. On Nov. 4, I will be advocating for change and much-needed checks and balances by casting my vote for newcomer Leslie Munger for state representative.
