Carol Stream man accused of stealing watch, computer tablet

Carol Stream police said they arrested a 23-year-old man Thursday after he stole a watch and a computer tablet.

Liban M. Mohamed, of the 600 block of Gundersen Drive in Carol Stream, was charged with two counts of residential burglary and one count of aggravated resisting arrest.

Officers were called Thursday morning to the 200 block of Concord Lane after a report of a man peering into the windows of homes, according to a news release.

After they arrived, police saw a man walk into the rear of a home. Officers went to the back of the residence and saw the person holding "a dark colored object," according to the news release.

Once the man noticed the officers, he ran toward the front door, the news release said.

Police chased him out the front door, where he encountered more officers and a struggle occurred.

Mohamed had a computer tablet and a woman's wristwatch, police said. The watch was from the Concord Lane home, but the "dark colored object" - a computer tablet - was taken earlier from a different home, according to the news release.
