Lake in the Hills hires new employees

Lake in the Hills village officials recently hired new administrative staff members, including a finance director, assistant finance director, and director of parks and recreation.

Rich Hentschel is the village's new finance director. He will provide financial management, accounting, fund investments and budget coordination, officials said.

Hentschel has worked in finance for government agencies and nonprofit organizations for much of his career, including most recently as comptroller for Urbana and budget manager for Lake County.

He received his undergraduate degree in finance from the University of Illinois at Chicago, an MBA in finance from the University of San Francisco, and a master's degree in geography from San Francisco State University.

Andrea Fogt was named the village's new assistant finance director. Fogt will help with the overall management and direction of the finance department, including performing technical, accounting functions, maintaining the general ledger system, recording investment activity, maintaining the fixed asset system, and coordinating monthly closing activities.

Fogt previously worked for Glen Ellyn, the Oak Park Park District, and the DuPage County Health Department. She holds a bachelor's degree in economics from DePaul University.

Laura Barron is the village's new parks and recreation director. She previously worked as recreation supervisor for Streamwood, Glen Ellyn, and Naperville park districts, recreation superintendent for the Lisle Park District, and executive director for the Oakbrook Terrace Park District.

Barron is responsible for developing and administering a comprehensive, year-round parks and recreation program, including the effective and proper use of recreational areas, facilities, and special events. She is a graduate of College of DuPage, Western Illinois University and Aurora University George Williams College with degrees in recreational leadership and recreation and parks administration.
