Dist. 54 investigates student's bringing knife to school

A student brought a knife to Stevenson School in Elk Grove Village on Tuesday, but no one was injured or even threatened, Schaumburg Township District 54 spokeswoman Terri McHugh said. McHugh said the matter was a violation of school policy rather than a violation of the law - one student saw a knife in another student's possession, told a teacher, and the knife was immediately confiscated. She did not say why the student brought the knife, but said no further information about this or any student disciplinary matters will be released.
