Master cooking skills with the Schaumburg Park District

Children's cooking classes will teach participants to make tasty treats!

Join the District for the Kooky Cooking Series held Fridays, 4-5:30 p.m., Sept. 26-Oct. 17 at Bock Neighborhood Center, 1223 W. Sharon Road. Little chefs will make chicken wraps, quesadillas, pockets of pizza, paninis, cherry crisps and more!

"This is a fun series for kids that really want to learn how to cook," said Kathleen Benson, Bock Center manager and general program supervisor. "They'll touch a number of bases including snacks, dinners and desserts. They'll even take the recipes home with them so they can recreate their favorites!"

The cooking series will bring new ideas to the table for after school snacks and meals. Multiple treats are made each class and taken home. All food/supplies are included.

Cost is $52 for residents and $72 for non-residents.

The District also offers single day classes that follow a theme. Upcoming classes include:

• A is for Apple: Children will enjoy the popular and nutritious fruit in a variety of snacks from 6-7:30 p.m., Sept. 26 at Bock.

• Girls Making Goodies: Girls will make easy and delicious treats that are perfect for after school snacks from 6-7:30, Oct. 3 at Bock.

Individual class cost is $30 for residents and $45 for non-residents.
