Bartlett High School named one of the best

Bartlett High School was named to The Daily Beast's list of America's Best High Schools for 2014.

The list was developed using data from the U.S. Department of Education. The award-winning publication examined the nation's high schools with a graduation rate of 85 percent or higher and then analyzed 1,200 schools for graduation and college acceptance rates, percentage of free and reduced lunch students, SAT and ACT scores, academic rigor using Advanced Placement (AP) and other test scores, and student performance on college admission exams.

"We are honored to be included in this prestigious list and recognized for offering rigorous instruction that prepares our students for success," said Bartlett High Principal Dr. Richard Lebron.

"This recognition inspires us to continue providing a top-notch learning environment that will equip students with a competitive edge in their college and career paths."

According to The Daily Beast's ratings, Bartlett High School has an 89 percent graduation rate, 74.8 percent college bound rate, 36 percent free and reduced lunch rate, and an average ACT score of 21.2.

Additionally, 51.7 percent of Bartlett High students examined were enrolled in AP courses with an exam pass rate of 57.6 percent.

"Congratulations to Bartlett High School administrators, teachers and staff for all that they do to help our students excel academically," said U-46 CEO Tony Sanders.

"It's the hard work and dedication of Bartlett High's staff and students that has led to this outstanding recognition of being named a best high school."
