After 6 cars, house damaged, Woodridge teen charged with DUI

A Woodridge teen who lost control of her red Ford Mustang Sunday night and damaged a total of six cars and a house has been charged with DUI, police said.

Hope Brown, 18, was driving south on Westview Lane approaching the intersection at Everglade Avenue at about 10:20 p.m. when she lost control and hit several cars parked along the road, said Traci Steger, Woodridge Police Department's public information officer.

Out of control, Brown's vehicle then went through a yard on the 7800 block of Westview Lane, damaging a vehicle in the driveway and striking the house. The impact with the house caused items in the garage to collapse onto another vehicle inside the garage, police said.

Brown was charged with driving under the influence and reckless driving. She had minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, police said.

She later posted bond and was released. She's expected in court again Oct. 21.

Nobody else was injured.
