He's not accusing BG board of secrecy

I spoke at the Buffalo Grove Village Board meeting on Sept. 8 regarding my, and Save Buffalo Grove's, opposition to the downtown proposal for the Buffalo Grove Golf Course.

In my response to President Braiman's comments to me that commitments have not yet been made I said in part, "There are a lot of people in this audience that think the commitments have been made and you've done it behind closed doors".

I was not accusing the board of actually doing business behind closed doors, I was trying to inform the board that there are residents who "think" this happens. I was talking about perceptions.

In my 40+ years of dealing with the Village of Buffalo Grove as a resident, officer and member of the BG Jaycees and officer and member of the BG Youth Commission, I personally feel that all my dealings with the village have always been "above board" (no pun intended). My comments at the 9/8/2014 village board meeting should not be construed as a personal accusation or insult to the board.

Because the process regarding the investigation and vetting of the downtown proposal seems to produce results with glacial speed, I feel this can cause communication gaps.

As I have for the past 44 years, I continue to look forward to working with the Village of Buffalo Grove and the board to make Buffalo Grove one of the best places in the U.S. to live.
