Autopsy shows Gurnee woman died from crash injuries
An autopsy shows a Gurnee woman died from injuries she suffered in a single-vehicle crash on Route 45 in Third Lake, authorities said Thursday.
Patricia Kehoe, 76, was driving a red 2009 Hyundai Elantra when the wreck occurred about 6 a.m. Wednesday, according to Lake County sheriff's police. The sheriff's office's technical crash investigations unit is handling the case.
Lake County Deputy Coroner Orlando Portillo said Kehoe died from traumatic injuries due to the crash and that toxicology results were negative. An autopsy was performed Thursday on Kehoe.
Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the busy intersection on a report that Kehoe's Hyundai was heading north on Route 45 at Washington Street when it left the roadway and went onto grass. Police said the car struck a traffic pole and rolled onto its roof.
Police said Kehoe was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, where she was pronounced dead.
