Addison Trail alumnus on new season of 'Biggest Loser'

Former Addison Trail High School sports star Toma Dobrosavljevic will be a contestant on this season of “The Biggest Loser,” the NBC's competitive weight loss show which premieres Thursday.

Dobrosavljevic, 33, is now a senior project manager in the technology field. While growing up in Addison, he played soccer, football, volleyball and baseball, according to his “Biggest Loser” biography.

Born to Serbian immigrant parents, Dobrosavljevic went on to play competitive soccer after high school, while earning bachelor's and master's degrees from DeVry University. He started to pack on the pounds after that. Before his father died in 2003, Dobrosavljevic promised his dad he'd lose weight. He hasn't fulfilled that promise, though. Instead, he moved home to help look after his mother and continued to gain weight.

Dobrosavljevic's starting weight on Thursday's season premiere is 336 pounds.

Once he loses the weight, he hopes to try out for a professional soccer team, his bio said.
