Police say two people found dead in Fox Lake apartment

Two bodies were discovered Tuesday in a Fox Lake apartment, authorities said.

The bodies of the man and woman, whose identities were not released by police, were discovered about 11 a.m. on the 300 block of Devlin Road.

Lake County Coroner Thomas Rudd said Tuesday both the man and woman were in their 20s and it appears they died of gunshot wounds. Autopsies are scheduled for Wednesday.

Police were called to the apartment by co-workers who were concerned when the man didn't show up for work, Lake County Major Crimes Task Force Cmdr. George Filenko said.

Filenko declined to say if there was evidence of violence in the apartment, or how the two people died.

Police believe the man and woman lived together in the apartment.

No suspects are being sought, he said.

Filenko called the police activity "a death investigation."

Fox Lake Fire Protection District Battalion Chief Larry Van Hoorelbeke said a rescue crew was called to the apartment for two people not breathing.

At the apartment, Van Hoorelbeke said, police requested that only one paramedic enter the residence to check the man and woman inside. The paramedic checked quickly, he said, then was escorted out of the apartment by police.
