Can't drivers and bikers get along?

Can't drivers and bikers get along?

Why does there have to be an argument about sharing the road? Bikers own cars, buy gas and pay taxes, so they do pay for the use of the roads. There are laws stating that bikers can use the road and cars must stay three feet away.

Those bikers live in your neighborhood; you work with them and socialize with them. The rude, obnoxious bikers are not the norm, just as rude drivers are not the norm. Bike trails are not the safe place for fast riders ... there are dogs, children and adults walking. Riding on the roads, sharing them legally, is the safest way to ride a bike.

In this world, where terrorists are killing Americans, how can anyone really get mad at bikers for sharing the road? What a shame everyone - drivers and bikers - cannot show a little more respect and patience toward each other. Isn't that what we teach our children to do?
