Hanover Park shooting investigated as homicide

The fatal shooting of a Schaumburg man in Hanover Park on Saturday is being investigated as a homicide, police said Monday.

Lee Shaw, 35, was pronounced dead at 11:08 p.m. Saturday after being taken to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates, Hanover Park Deputy Police Chief Andy Johnson said.

Police and paramedics responded to the scene of the shooting on the 6600 block of Scott Lane. Police did not indicate when the shooting took place or when they responded, and Johnson would not immediately state how the shooting was discovered and reported, or if there were witnesses.

An autopsy by the Cook County medical examiner's office Sunday confirmed the gunshot wound was Shaw's cause of death.
