Hoffman Estates wins award for budget
The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada has recognized the Village of Hoffman Estates for the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its 2013 budget.
In order to receive the award, the village had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. These guidelines are designed to assess how well a municipal budget serves as a policy document, financial plan, operations guide and a communications device.
This is the sixth year in a row Hoffman Estates has won the award. Among the association's 18,000 members, more than 1,400 received the award for the 2013 budget year.
