Illinois cannot afford to lose residents

Success - Article sent! close

Just read another study by the Illinois Policy Institute. Did you know that in 2012 Iowa's median income surpassed Illinois'? Our income has collapsed by $12,000 in the last 15 years -- ugh. Does the shrinking paycheck result from state policies that smother entrepreneurs, a choking regulatory environment, our culture of cronyism, and overall high taxes? Probably!

People are leaving; in fact, we lead the Midwest in exporting talent. This led to a net loss of 50,000 residents and $2 billion in lost revenue in 2010 alone. When do we start to care and change this mess?
