State Rep. Ives hosts a kids' fitness boot camp in Wheaton

More than 150 kids were educated about how to stay active and eat healthy on Friday during State Rep. Jeanne Ives' boot camp.

Officially called the second annual Kids' Fitness and Health Boot Camp, the event was held at Cantigny Park in Wheaton.

Ives, who served in the U.S. Army, led some exercises, including a 1-mile fun run, along with her son, who is also in the military.

The kids were also able to participate in an obstacle course, climb a rock wall, take a fitness test and learn aerial yoga and aerobic dance.
