Lincolnshire Art Festival takes place Aug. 16-17

Rated as one of the Top 100 festivals in the country by Sunshine Artist magazine, the Lincolnshire Art Festival celebrates its 17th year in 2014.

The event will run Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 16-17, at the Village Green shopping center on Milwaukee Avenue at Olde Half Day Road. Vendors will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Admission is free.

Managed by Amdur Productions, the festival hosts 100 juried artists from around the country. Live music, food and activities for kids - including an art scavenger hunt and spin art - make the festival a family experience.

Art enthusiasts will have the opportunity to see the masters at work, with interactive art demos and booth chats taking place all weekend.

Festivalgoers of all ages will have an opportunity to get into the "art-filled" action by contributing to a mural on-site at the festival.

A weekend drawing will take place and one lucky festivalgoer will receive Art Buck$, courtesy of Amdur Productions, to spend on a piece of art at any of Amdur Productions' 2014 festivals.
