The Brothers Grimm "go Broadway" as Sondheim and Lapine offer up a cockeyed fairy tale. All of your favorite characters - Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (and his beanstalk), and the Witch - meet and interact in this whimsical original story. The musical centers on a baker and his wife who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the king's festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse and wind up changed forever.

The cast includes: Ryan Bussert and Kayla Bussert, both of South Elgin; Dan Keller of Aurora; Cameron Tucker, Meghan Tucker, Justin Knautz, Nathan Knautz, and Madeline Hotham, all of Batavia; Jill Danklefsen, Abageal Phelan, Rachel Tork, and Audrey Carberry, all of Geneva; Alaina Karner, Jordie Karner, Danielle Kyle, Macey Buckman and Emily Menke, all of Elgin; Erin Kingseed, Bridgett Brutto, Kaleigh Brutto, Riley Brutto, Katelyn Jassoy, Gabe Delaney, Aaron Delaney, and Michelle Robinson, all of St. Charles; and Erica Johnson and Christina Rausch, both of Maple Park.
