Palatine library to host retirement party for longtime director

The Palatine Public Library District invites the community to say goodbye to Director Susan Strunk Sunday, Aug. 17. Refreshments will be served from 1-3 p.m. in Meeting Room 1. Director Strunk will retire Aug. 29 and will be moving to South Carolina.

During her seven-year tenure, the Palatine Library District has undergone several renovations, moved a branch to a new location, and experienced major growth related to technology and digital resources. The amount of programs offered also increased to include a broader range of interests for patrons.

Strunk has been involved with the Rotary Club, the Palatine Opportunity Center, and the Chamber of Commerce since she moved to Palatine in 2007. She was instrumental in partnering with other governmental agencies and businesses to bring the library out to the community.
