Muscle cars make Warrenville's Summer Daze shiny

The smell of rubber and the gleam of American muscle cars added to the usual muggy August weather, making the Warrenville annual Summer Daze Celebration one hot event.

A wide palate of color and chrome attracted people from near and far to this year's show. Cars and motorcycles from old to new were on display for the most discriminating auto enthusiasts.

"This is a wonderful car show they do," said Greg Henry of Warrenville, who has been coming for the last 12 years. "This is a good family function."

He was showing off a Chevy Nova he's been working on for seven years.

This was a judged event, offering prizes for best of show, best engine and best interior, to name a few.

The fest/street party was in downtown Warrenville Friday and Saturday; it included a car show, music, food and beer.

The Summer Daze car show in Warrenville attracted more than 50 cars and bikes to the streets of the town. Food and music was also available later in the evening. Paul Michna/pmichna@dailyherald.com
