Man arrested in Round Lake Beach shooting

A Round Lake Beach man on Tuesday was charged in a shooting that injured a 16-year-old boy, according to police.

Anthony M. Weber, 21, of Round Lake Beach, who also had a separate arrest warrant from Wisconsin on domestic battery charges, was arrested at about 11:45 a.m. at a home in Janesville, Wisconsin.

Authorities said Round Lake Beach police responded Monday evening to a report of shots fired on the 1200 block of Sunset Drive, but the injured person left before police arrived.

Hours later, a 16-year-old boy showed up at a Libertyville hospital with a gunshot wound, according to police. The victim was treated and released.

Weber is being held at the Rock County, Wisconsin, jail on his Illinois and Wisconsin warrants. Round Lake Beach police were assisted by officers from Janesville.
