Concert to benefit DuPage Convalescent Center

The DuPage Convalescent Center Foundation will present the 125th anniversary Benefit Concert featuring the local R&B band August at 7 p.m. Aug. 7 at Cantigny Park, 1S151 Winfield Road, Wheaton.

"This is a great way to network, reconnect or make new friends and clients all while helping the residents of the DuPage Convalescent Center," said Ray Valadez, president of the DuPage Convalescent Center Foundation.

Proceeds from the concert will go toward the foundation's goal to raise $125,000 to renovate the resident dining room as part of the anniversary celebration. The updated space will double the current capacity and allow for a more homelike atmosphere for residents to dine and socialize.

"This is the foundation's first capital campaign. We are excited about this campaign and look forward to providing the residents with the homelike environment they deserve," Valadez said.

Concert sponsors include Cadence Health and Comcast.

Tickets cost $12 and can be purchased at www.dpccfoundation.org. Tickets may also be purchased at the gate the day of the event for $15. Sponsorships are still available and all donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
