Man stabbed woman in Elgin, police say
A man stabbed a woman during an apparent domestic disturbance Monday night in Elgin, authorities said.
Officers responded to a home on the 600 block of Shenandoah Trail just before 7:30 p.m. after receiving reports of a stabbing.
Police said in a news release that the domestic situation involved a 56-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman, both of whom suffered serious but not life threatening injuries.
Authorities said the man's injuries appeared to be self-inflicted.
Elgin Fire Department paramedics took both people to the hospital.
Police were investigating.
