Ridge Family Center for Learning opens July 23

The elementary (K-5) program at the Ridge Family Center for Learning in Community Consolidated School District 59 welcomes students to the 2014/15 school year on Wednesday, July 23. All families are invited to spend the first day with their child, which will run from 8:05 a.m. until 1:55 p.m.

Ridge Family Center for Learning is the school of choice in School District 59, meaning students from across the District 59 community are eligible to attend. Ridge is a unique school that offers families a year-round calendar, full-day kindergarten, problem-based learning experiences and active parent involvement in every level of the educational process.

Dr. Art Fessler, School District 59 superintendent, will be on hand to join Principal Michele Ramsey in welcoming staff and families to the new school year.

Ridge parents will have the opportunity to meet with their child's teacher both while the students are settling into their classrooms, and separately while the students are engaged in outdoor activities. Parents will also meet with the principal and other staff for orientation regarding expectations for students and their parents.
