Wauconda honors Deborah Gompertz for service

Deborah L. Gompertz was honored Tuesday with a mayoral proclamation for her 40 years of service to the Wauconda Police Department and the Village of Wauconda. Gompertz was presented with a 5-point gold star badge from the police department. She joined the department June 23, 1974. Since then, Gompertz has served as dispatcher, communications supervisor, records supervisor, administrative assistant and executive assistant. The proclamation said "Deborah's selfless dedication to her duties and other projects whenever requested has proved to be a valuable and noteworthy achievement, deserving recognition," and named July 15, 2014 as Deborah L. Gompertz day in the Village of Wauconda.
