Dining events: Brewmaster dinner at Emmett's in Palatine

Brewmaster dinner

Join Emmett's for its monthly brewmaster dinner at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 17. Eats include pan-seared sea scallops, summer tomato gazpacho, mojito sorbet and seared maple leaf farms duck breast. Belgian dubbel, maibock, ESB and kolsch will be poured. The evening begins with a beer reception and brewery tour; the brewing and food discussion continues over dinner.

Shaw's lobster fest

It's lobster fest time again at Shaw's Crab House. Through July, try the three-course family-style lobster dinner for $38 per person. Dinner includes a cup of clam chowder, one-pound whole Maine lobster, and sides like corn on the cob, red bliss potatoes, coleslaw and a slice of Key lime pie. Or, for $32 a person, try the New England lobster boil, which includes a 1-pound lobster, red bliss potatoes, coleslaw, corn on the cob and a slice of Key lime pie.

Burgers for veterans

Weber Grill supports military veterans with its new patriotic burger: two 5-ounce seared Black Angus beef patties, cherrywood-smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion and American cheese on a brioche bun. For every Veteran's burger purchased ($14 each), $1 goes to Illinois' Operation Home Front.
