Guest View full of inaccuracies

I hope the Daily Herald charged advertising rates for Mr. Lance Izumi's Guest View published June 25. It is nothing more than a school privatization scam from an executive of the Pacific Research Institute. PRI has direct and indirect ties to ALEC and the Koch Brothers. They are funded by the Kochs, directly and through other foundations.

He cites the Friedman Foundation, another conservative organization with ALEC/Koch ties, whose mission is school privatization. See sourcewatch.org for info.

Furthermore, a check on Mr. Izumi's position title finds it is nothing more than a designation given by a task force formed by the Hoover Institution, another organization with ties to all of the above.

Even if, and this is a big if, the report Mr. Izumi is shilling were accurate, why would taxpayers want to spend millions on charters when 75 percent are proven to be equal to or significantly worse than their public school counterparts? There are valid sources of information for this important issue. Mr. Izumi's snake oil pitch is not one of them.
