Before the largest crowd in their three-year history, the Schaumburg Boomers scratched out a 3-0 shutout over the first-place River City Rascals on Wednesday at Boomers Stadium.

A crowd of 7,614 cheered as the Boomers (16-13) scored single runs in the fourth, fifth, and eighth for the win. River City dropped to 18-10 as three Boomers pitchers (newly signed starter Eddie Cody, Hunter Ackerman and Clark Labitan) stranded 8 baserunners to preserve the shutout.
