Buffalo Grove Green Fair coming Sunday

The third annual Buffalo Grove Green Fair, sponsored by the Buffalo Grove Park District's Environmental Action Team, will be held from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday, June 22, at Mike Rylko Community Park, 951 McHenry Road.

The free event for the whole family will provide information and activities to help residents learn about the small steps they can all take at home, work and in the community to improve the environment and make Buffalo Grove a greener and healthier place to live.

The fair will be collecting the following items for proper recycling or repurposing: Small electronics (see website for full list), bicycles and bike parts, eyeglasses and hearing aids, keys, shoes, crayons, books, clothing, household batteries, CFL light bulbs, CDs, DVDs, game disks, used knives, scissors and other blades.

A list of exhibits, activities and recylable items is at bgeat.org, or contact Martha Weiss at (847) 850-2104 or mweiss@bgparks.org.
