Vote out the current lineup of politicians

Our governor and legislators must believe that Illinois voters are as dumb as stones. They know very well that a vote on raising your pay $1.75 an hour without any additional education or effort will pass with flying colors. Who doesn't want more money? They don't bother to explain that raising the minimum wage will force more marginal workers out of the workforce and onto welfare.

The minimum wage should be set by job market conditions, not as a political favor to a voter bloc. Then they added to the insult by asking for a referendum about increasing the income taxes on the people making more than a million dollars a year, and asking if employer health plans should cover birth control.

Why are they wasting our taxpayer money asking us to vote on the Democratic platform? The vote for the representatives is supposed to do that. Why don't they let us have a say about term limits, about redistricting and how it reduces voter turnout, about fat pensions for elected officials, about pensions for public workers that are so out of line with private industry that they are bankrupting the state?

I could go on about how the income tax and gambling were supposed to go to education and give us property tax relief, but the tears are blurring my vision. I have voted in every election since 1954 and never really thought that any politician had the best interests of the state in mind when they proposed and voted on bills, but the current crop is the worst ever. Vote them all out of office every election, until they decide to do their job.
