Schaumburg Garden Club holds sale June 7

The Schaumburg Community Garden Club will hold its Bargain Bulb and Native Plant Sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 7 at Spring Valley Nature Center, 1111 E. Schaumburg Road in Schaumburg.

Master gardeners from the University of Illinois Extension Services will be on hand to answer questions and encourage gardeners to provide habitats that are friendly to butterflies, bees and hummingbirds.

The sale is one of only two fundraisers the garden club holds each year, counting on the public's support to raise money needed for community gardening outreach activities. This year, the club hopes to meet or surpass last year's record crop of 2,500 pounds of fresh vegetables for the Schaumburg Township Pantry Garden and help other local garden projects.
