Lake Zurich officials say they are seeking applicants for the next Citizens Police Academy. The academy is a 10-week program designed to give participants a working knowledge of the Lake Zurich police. It consists of a series of classes and discussions that provide an overview of the various areas of law enforcement. It's free and open to applicants 21 and older living or working in the village. Applicants will be subject to a background check. Applications are available at the police department on Mohawk Trail or the village website at volz.org. The program will be on Tuesday nights from Sept. 9 to Nov. 11.
