Summer afternoon program returns to the Des Plaines History Center

Afternoon Adventures, an educational and fun program, will start up again at the Des Plaines History Center, 781 Pearson St. From 1-4 p.m. on Wednesdays, June 18-Aug. 13, children and families are invited to attend the sessions, which will focus on agriculture and industry in and around Des Plaines.

"This will be an exciting time at the museum," said Sarah DePuy, summer intern at the History Center. "Children and adults will experience learning and fun as they work in a garden, take a trip to a local greenhouse and create model houses using recycled materials."

Cost is $4 per child for nonmembers and $2 per child for members. Participants are welcome to attend any or all of the sessions. The program is designed for children, ages 5-12, with an adult. Come out and spend an afternoon at the History Center.

Afternoon Adventures is sponsored by the Des Plaines History Center and the Kiwanis Club of Des Plaines. The History Center gratefully acknowledges operating support from the City of Des Plaines, the Des Plaines Park District, its members, and other contributors.
